Cost Estimator - Washington, United States - Grant Leading Technology
Description
Grant Leading Technology (GLT) is looking for an experienced Cost Estimator to provide expert cost analysis services for our clients.
In this role, the candidate will be required to take customer requirements, conduct research and analysis to create comprehensive total cost for procuring and installing those requirements.
Duties will be completed remotely (work from home), and hours will be Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30 pm EST.
In addition, will be responsible for the following:
Ideally we are targeting someone with Commercial / Government experience estimating office renovations and/or relocations or remodeling or Tenant Improvement or Fit outs.
Provide analytical solutions, including development of program life cycle cost estimates (LCCEs), alternative analyses, economic analysis, and other business case documentation
Perform data collection and analysis, life cycle cost estimating, model development, cost risk analysis, affordability assessments, cost-benefit analysis, and other technical analyses as needed
Contribute effectively to working groups through oral and written communication and cooperative working relationships, work closely with stakeholders
Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, specifications, and related documents
Identify acquisition and execution costs for design, construction, and furniture requirements using known and unknown basis of estimates
Develop basis of estimates and standard framework documents for cost estimating policy for previously unknown or undocumented costs
Develop Rough Order Magnitude (ROM) and Independent Government Cost Estimate (IGCE)
Resolve discrepancies between estimates and actual proposals
Maintain cost database by entering and backing up data
Develop cost estimating plans that serve as requirements planning documentation for government lease acquisition.
Read and analyze documentation and blueprints in order to give accurate material, cost, time and labor estimates
Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree,
preferably in business, finance, economics, math, engineering, or operations research
Prefer to have someone that isable to perform Monte Carlo Simulations
Must have knowledge and expertise using RS Means
Experience in cost analysis and proficiency in use of cost estimating and risk tools such as ACEIT, SEER-SEM, @RISK and Crystal Ball
Experience in performing Initial Investment Decision and Final Investment Decision estimates
Proven experience managing construction projects, manufacturing product or other services to determine the cost estimate for bidding or service in these or other areas.
Analyzing Information, Estimating, Planning, Reporting Research Results, Strategic Planning, Requirements AnalysisAttention to Detail
High level of critical thinking and problem solving
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task
High level of proficiency with MS Excel and other MS Office products
Strong analytical background and good interpersonal skills. Years of required experience vary based on specific position requirements
Must meet eligibility requirements for a US Public Trust security clearance
Preferred Skills
Preference given to candidate with knowledge of government acquisition processes and experience in the development of models and databases
Knowledge of SAGE
Preferred experience in developing Government Cost Estimates
Salary Range:
$100,000 - $130,000
