Duties and Responsibilities:


  • In partnership with the Annual Fund Coordinator, manage and implement solicitation calendar for unrestricted donors giving up to $10,000 or more, including data requests/review, writing and design of appeal communications, and coordination of outofhouse implementation
  • Support the Director in the administration of the Trustees' Annual Fund solicitation and stewardship, coordinating with the Women's Board and Major Gifts teams to ensure the implementation of cohesive solicitation messaging
  • Carefully manage details of custom proposals and personalized solicitation strategies for nuanced requests, as well as proposals for highcapacity donors and prospects
  • Manage the fulfillment of donor society benefits, including regularly updating donor concierge service resources for Individual and Major Giving team
  • Utilize Raiser's Edge database to generate regular reports and analyses on progress toward department fundraising goals, import data to update proposal and constituent records, and pull data queries and exports for the team
  • Lead gift officers and advancement team members through the annual Proposal Management process, coordinate data segmentation and database tracking, and facilitate regular updates to proposal strategies throughout the year
  • Benchmark best practices across peer institutions
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent level of education and experience
  • 23 years in an Annual Giving environment in a cultural institution
  • Microsoft Office Suite required, including Excel experience
  • Google Business Suite, InDesign, and PowerPoint preferred
  • Prior fundraising database experience is required, Raiser's Edge preferred
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Comfort managing and working with data
  • Strong organizational skills, able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to exercise tact and discretion in handling highly confidential information and interacting with Museum donors and prospective donors
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events and donor visits
  • Energetic and patient team player with a proactive "can do" attitude
  • Collaborative, teamoriented nature and comfort working within the structure of a large institution
  • Ability to identify priority projects and selfdirect work as needed
  • Comfort with identifying department needs and establishing new procedures
  • Genuine interest in the Museum, fundraising, and event planning
  • A passion for science, natural history, and public engagement
