    Description

    Overview

    Our client is looking to add a Construction Estimator with a background in Tilt Wall, Cold Storage and Warehouses. Must be able to read architectural/MEP drawings, understand which trades perform which duties, create a basic scope of work for each trade, send out for bids to area trade contractors, review trade contractor proposals, assist in creating project schedules. Must be extremely well organized and have experience in this position. There is no training at all. Must be experienced enough where you can perform your duties unassisted. Small company, where everyone "wears many hats." As the company continues to grow, your role will become more specialized, but in the beginning, you might be asked to do the duties of both an estimator and PM- all dependent on workload.

    Responsibilities

    • Analyze project specifications and drawings to prepare accurate cost estimates
    • Utilize software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam for precise estimations
    • Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers for competitive pricing
    • Develop detailed proposals outlining project scope, timeline, and costs
    • Collaborate with the construction team to ensure accurate budgeting and scheduling
    • Monitor project progress to identify potential cost overruns and implement corrective actions

    Qualifications

    • 3+ Years of estimating experience
    • Needs to have hands on experience estimating at least one of the following: warehouses, tilt wall or cold storage
    • Proven experience in construction estimating and project management
    • Proficiency in construction software tools like HeavyBid and Bluebeam
    • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
    • Ability to interpret contracts, pricing, and technical drawings
    • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
    • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field is preferred.
