Foundry Worker
What does it mean to be a Foundry Worker at Accurate Specialties?
As a part of the foundry department with Accurate Specialties, your goal is to melt metal into liquid and make it take on a new shape.
You can expect to
- Work with our Foundry lead person and other foundry associates to build appropriate alloys per specifications.
- Weigh out specified amounts of materials for furnace charge.
- Skim slag from surface of molten metal, using ladle.
- Operate spectrometer to ensure metal chemistries are correct.
- Use various hand tools (grinders, mallets, etc.) to clean ladles.
- Assemble Dies using wrench, bolts, and tap screws.
- Spray binder on surface of molds and dries surface with blowtorch.
- Pour molten metal into molds per process sheets.
- Remove castings from molds
- Perform setup of dies and hubs, cleaning, and prepping, as necessary.
- Remove, cleans and stores dies when job is completed.
- Load dies & hubs into appropriate oven.
- Clean equipment and work areas.
- Move sand, castings, flasks, or other materials within foundry by crane, forklift, or cart.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Must be able to work extended hours when needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in foundry
- Experience using a forklift
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Physical | Visual Demands:
- Moderate lifting (up to 50lbs.), bending and reaching
- Ability to work safely in a hot environment
Work Environment/Safety Requirements:
- Wears all required PPE and maintains safe work practices
- Awareness/adherence to Accurate Specialties ISO9001 Quality and Safety policies.
