Objective
The Director of Commercial Insurance is responsible for driving department growth, profitability, carrier partnerships and achieving business objectives.

They manage operational practices of their department by maintaining systems and procedures for operating efficiency, setting goals, and ensuring the desired results are attained.

The Director of Commercial Insurance is focused on ensuring exceptional customer service is delivered to both internal and external customers and managing team members for optimum performance while delivering on the Lighthouse value proposition and culture.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for achieving growth goals through a total agency sales culture
  • Accomplishes results through employees by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the external production and business development teams to ensure consistency in expectations and client service deliverables.
  • Establishes strategic goals relative to increasing level of customer service and efficiency by gathering pertinent business information; identifying and evaluating trends and options; choosing a course of action; defining objectives; evaluating outcomes.
  • Maintains a dynamic service team by interviewing, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; evaluate employee performance, deliver annual review process, and develop personal growth opportunities.
  • Maintains quality service by driving and enforcing consistency and alignment amongst client teams in areas of customer service and Agency Best Practices; analyzing and resolving quality and customer service problems; identifying trends and recommending workflow improvements.
  • Deliver on high account retention by creating a culture of accountability beginning from the point of sale including client onboarding, proactive stewardship and relationship building, facilitating necessary client meetings, touch points, and managing the renewal process.
  • Collaborate with Vice President of Sales, Sales Manager and Sales Team to support department growth goals and sales initiatives by maintaining a Total Agency Sales Culture amongst service team.
  • Ensure compliance with company's policies and operational guidelines.
  • Report to peers, project committees &/or senior executives on progress and issues.
  • Address customer issues and queries in accurate and timely manner.
  • Well versed in consumer behavior, latest trends and competitor activity within area.
  • Build and maintain authentic, strategic relationships with carrier and vendor partners.
  • Support Lighthouse Group culture through leading by example.

Qualifications:

  • Strong business acumen with a strategic orientation
  • Ability to successfully motivate and lead a team
  • Excellent leadership skills with both implied and direct authority
  • Knowledge of performance evaluation metrics and principles
  • Minimum of three years of proven management experience
  • Bachelor's degree or five years of applicable experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and Client Management systems

Compensation Structure
