    Catering Sales Manager

    Hotel Equities, a highly recognized hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently seeking an exceptional Catering Sales Manager for the Crowne Plaza in Virginia Beach, VA.

    Job Purpose:

    Our goal is to exceed revenue targets by acquiring new accounts and expanding current hotel accounts in a profitable manner. We provide warm and knowledgeable service to ensure guests feel confident in their decision to stay with us.

    • Achieve at least 90% of productivity goals and 100% of activity goals set by management.
    • Direct Sales: Focus on high revenue potential sales calls to maintain a successful program based on department budget and marketing goals. Must have reliable transportation and a valid state driver's license for sales visits.
    • Key Account Management: Enhance existing key accounts by identifying those with revenue growth potential.
    • New Account Development: Capture accounts from competitors through networking and research to target those likely to bring new business.
    • Acquire referrals from current accounts promptly and follow up on leads within 48 hours to generate new business for the hotel.
    • Plan and execute a Targeted Account Development list to secure new revenue and establish valuable hotel connections.
    • Continuously prospect for new business through various methods such as telemarking and creativity.
    • Yield Management: Use yield management techniques to negotiate room rates and function space commitments for improved financial performance.
    • Account Service and Management: Maintain organized and up-to-date files to provide efficient client and employer service.
    • Develop strong customer relationships through regular communication and professional interactions.
    • Conduct research to capitalize on the hotel's strengths and competitors' weaknesses to improve business strategies.
    • Maximize selling time by focusing on revenue-producing activities.
    • Travel cost-effectively to represent the hotel with the highest level of integrity and professionalism.
    • Foster a positive team attitude and maintain open communication with colleagues for overall hotel success.
    • Maintain a professional appearance at all times.

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    High School diploma or equivalent required. Experience with top hotel brands such as Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt preferred.

    This role requires the ability to:

    • Meet clients on and off premises, tour properties, attend functions, and operate office equipment.
    • Read fine print, observe details in various conditions, and follow instructions.
    • Manage multiple tasks, relationships, and priorities effectively.
    • Make sound business decisions, respond to feedback, and prioritize tasks.
    • Demonstrate strong sales skills and problem-solving abilities.

    • Strong communication skills essential for guest and employee interactions.
    • Basic math, problem-solving, and reasoning skills required.
    • Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
