About us:

O&K American Corp is a manufacturer of cold heading steel wire.


Job purpose:

Maintain general cleanliness of facility.


Duties and responsibilities:


  • Maintain hoppers and bins for scraps and waste.
  • Transport carriers to departments (including unloading and location control when needed)
  • Maintenance of facility both inside and outside. (Utilize snow removal machines to clear snow and salt throughout facility. Use sweeper machine to clean production floor).
  • Band coils.
  • Able to flow between different departments and work areas.
  • Load export containers.
  • Follow safety procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Able to read, write and speak English
  • Basic computers skills
  • HSD or equivalent
  • Previous experience operating forklifts and overhead crane in a manufacturing setting

Working conditions:


  • Regularly lifting, traveling up and down stairs, standing, sitting, squatting, bending in various positions traveling in and out of work areas, walking and being on feet for majority of the day.
  • Daily exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and odors. Physical exertion is required.
  • May be required to work in a nonclimate controlled area during summer months and winter months. Inside and outside.
  • Safety glasses, metatarsal steeltoe shoes, hard hat, ear plugs, high visibility clothing.

Physical requirements:


  • Lifting minimum 50 lbs
  • Drive, bend, climb
  • Ability to hear and see
  • Must be able to identify distinguish colors

Pay:
From $19.00 per hour

Supplemental pay types:

Experience:

Forklift Operating: 2 years (preferred)
Overhead Crane: 2 years (preferred)


Ability to Relocate:

  • Chicago, IL 60632: Relocate before starting work (required)
