ATF Aerospace is a growth-oriented supplier of machined parts and Aerospace hardware. We are presently searching for a results-driven Quality Inspector to assume this critical responsibility for our organization.
Position Responsibilities
- Interpret customer contract requirements
- Inspect to customer and / or internal drawings procedures / specifications
- Initiate Report & Document discrepancies i.e. corrective actions following internal process. Follow internal / external procedures.
- Follow calibration procedures.
- Initiate Detailed Inspection / First Article Reports per AS9100 standards.
- Make final quality checks, i.e. hardness, torque, surface coating thickness, dimensional conformance, on random sampling.
- Prepare company, customer samples and various inspection reports and transmittal forms.
- Accurately complete Inspection reports with all required information.
- File all inspection reports in appropriate location.
- Maintain and clean all inspection / test equipment.
- Report malfunctioning test equipment.
- Approval of all Final Inspection with 100% passing of all inspection / tests and sign off on rejected parts and disposition.
- Follow all safety rules and practices.
- Perform other tasks as directed by supervisor (i.e. Dock Audits, 1st piece inspection).
- Ability to follow FOD (Foreign Object Debris) / Scrap Procedures
- Willing to crosstrain and be versatile in Distribution / Manufacturing duties.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to work from prints, sketches and shop orders.
- Ability to use micrometer, caliper, hardness tester, comparator, inspection equipment required.
- Knowledge of wide variety of precision inspection techniques, shop practices, elementary mechanics.
- Must have Aerospace inspection background and have worked in an AS 9100/ISO 9000 facility.
- Ability to interpret and measure parts to a customer drawing including GD&T requirements.
- Experience with APQP
- Experience with Net Inspect
- Work with Leadership/ Suppliers/Buyers/Internal and / or machinist when required.
- Be a Team Player.
- Ability to use computer for uploading / retrieving data.
- High School diploma or the equivalent formal experience required.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years in inspection field preferred.
- Equivalent of 2 to 3 years trade training.
- Experience as an inspector in an aerospace environment or at a fastener manufacturer is a plus.
- Familiar with AS9100 preferred.
- Boeing/Defense Logistics Agency, (DLA), Honeywell experience a plus.
- Audit experience a plus.
