    RAW Material Coordinator - Gainesville, United States - PPG Industries

    Description


    As the Raw Material Coordinator, you will coordinate the supply of raw material and packaging inventories to achieve execution of the schedule while managing appropriate dollar value of inventories.

    Can you make decisions on quantity, price breaks, and transportation to ensure optimum arrangement of each transaction?


    Key Responsibilities:
    Expedite and troubleshoot material shortages to support plant needs.

    Seek opportunities for continuous improvement in the supply chain through raw material packaging, consignment, and vendor managed inventory (VMI) opportunities.

    Support inventory accuracy goals and other goals through accurate use of inventory affecting transactions.
    Coordinate orders for raw materials (transfers to R&D, plants or returns to suppliers).
    Perform cycle counts daily.
    Be in the facility on matters of inventory shortages, corrections.
    Be able to set safety stocks based on usages of many items.
    Run inventory reports daily to show the highs and lows of inventory on hand.
    Understand expiration dates and shelf life, thus being able to pull inventory that has exceeded its shelf life.
    Meet Goals on a monthly basis.
    Disposition material that is returned from customers.
    Proactively support Technical team in updating formulations during phaseout and current issues
    Qualifications

    High School Diploma or equivalent
    3+ years of proven experience in a Supply Chain environment; experience in a production environment.
    Advanced Excel skills
    American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) certification or willingness to obtain.
