PURPOSE:

The Inside Sales role is responsible for intermediate-level order entry, sales transactions, and generating quotes.

This position works and supports the assigned Outside Sales Representative and is responsible for relationship building with internal and external customers, departments, and suppliers.

Each Inside Salesperson is responsible for maintaining a team approach within the company.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Ownership of and responsibility for all customer sales transactions including telephone sales and walkin traffic.
  • Provide Quotes and process All Orders, including Stock and Special Orders, utilizing Product Portals and Comparative sourcing in collaboration with Purchasing.
  • Coordinate deliveries for customers and outside sales representatives. Communicate and document changes in requirements and delivery schedules to all parties involved. Maintain all documents related to deliveries in compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Continue development of knowledge in all product/merchandise sold through the store and Contractor Sales Department. Make suggested sales and addon sales in response to customer and outside sales inquiries.
  • Check and monitor the status of all orders and quotes placed accurately and timely.
  • High level of knowledge of POS and other Software Systems.
  • Develop expert use of software/hardware for the purpose of point of sale, order entry and maintenance, and inventory control and transfers.
  • General Assistance, Product Sourcing, Competitive Research, Comparison, and/or Substitution for Internal and External Customers.
  • Friendly, courteous, and helpful service to customers and sales associates requests for product information, advice, or suggestions.

OTHER JOB DUTIES:


  • Willing and able to work with and respond to customers, associates, and managers.
  • Servicing and backing up the Outside Salesforce.
  • Provide organized, prompt, and complete communication to all departments with a primary focus on outside sales.


Perform all other duties as assigned including carrying out responsibilities, performing duties, using skills, and working in conditions necessary to perform all assigned task.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • This job operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
  • Environment is climate controlled.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:


  • High School Diploma
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office and POS systems
  • Knowledge of all special order and specialty catalogs, both online and printed.
  • Expert knowledge of store and company procedures relating to stock, quoting, sales, returns, delivery, invoicing, special orders, receiving, transfers
  • Customer Service experience required.
