The Role We Want You For:
The
Instrumentation & Controls Engineer I
will support the EI&C team, to ensure that control systems and instrumentation for design / build projects are properly specified, procured & installed.
The Specifics of the Role:
Support Process Flow Diagrams and P&ID development.
Preparation of instrument data sheets in coordination with process engineers.
Assist in sizing process instrumentation and automated valves.
Develop Instrument and IO lists.
Gather and review bids from instrumentation and automation suppliers.
Support the preparation of construction drawings depicting wiring, tray layouts, process connections, and instrumentation plans.
Review 3D piping models for proper installation and accessibility.
Review of fabrication, construction, and installation details.
Contribute to the development of equipment and packaged system specifications.
Review of design drawings and vendor packaged systems.
Participate in internal and external review sessions.
Support the development of Control System Architecture and DCS/PLC control narratives
Perform contractor RFI and submittal reviews.
Participate in cost estimating tasks such as I&C Material Take Off (MTO)
Participate in factory acceptance testing of packaged equipment and systems.
Produce DCS & PLC I/O schematics and loop drawings.
Produce network architecture diagrams.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Chemical Engineering. Completion of the fundamentals of engineering (FE) exam is a plus.
Minimum 2-5 years of instrumentation and controls engineering experience involving industrial projects.
Experience with certification and code requirements (Awareness of Electrical Codes & Standards; IEC, NEC, UL for components certification, ISA, ASME, ANSI)
Knowledge of hazardous area design.
Must be knowledgeable in the use of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to walk a job site and climb ladders.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
