  • JOB SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of functions, including: customer service, operating POS, handling money, giving correct change, order taking, customer accommodation, communicating about allergens, food preparation, serving food, garnishing frozen dessert items, food truck/cart set-up, break-down, clean-up, signage maintenance

  • Distinguishing Characteristics:
Primary job function is to engage with customers with talking points about menu items, serve menu items and create a positive food experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • The functions listed describe the handson purpose of this job. Specific duties or tasks may vary and be documented separately. The employee might not be required to perform all the functions listed. Additional duties may be assigned, and functions may be modified, according to necessity of the event.
  • 1. Prepares truck/cart on a daily basis; coordinates activity with supervisors and team. Stocks food, perishable and nonperishable, with the highest regard to sanitation, food and employee safety, and product integrity. Also stocks packaging, dry goods, and cleaning items; advises appropriate management staff of any irregularities encountered. 2. Assists with the logistics of the event. Coordinates arrival and departure times to include setup, clean up and break down at event. 3. Informs supervisors of needed maintenance issues on truck or carts. 4. Processes payments when needed; tracks orders and works with team members to get the orders to the customers, aware of and communicates to customers and team about promotions and allergens. 5. Assists with maintaining sales reports and inventory. 6. Reconciles cashbox with POS records. 7. Operates gas generator when needed. 8. Restocks and cleans mobile vehicles post event. 9. Leaves equipment and vehicles in good condition for the next event. 10. Reports outgoing and returning inventory. 11. Maintains signage before, during and after events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a reliable means of communication
  • Must have a reliable means of transportation
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
  • Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Post high school studies in culinary or hospitality and/or equivalent experience preferred.
  • At least two years related experience required.
  • Must be willing to participate in the Company's preemployment screening process and background investigation.
  • Education/Experience: High School Diploma or G.E.D. and 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company.

Competencies (as demonstrated through experience, training, and/or testing):

  • Understanding of the food service industry and catering.
  • Thorough understanding of food truck/mobile operations and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle money and make correct change.
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
  • Ability to use personal computers and office productivity software and POS.
  • Good teamwork skills.
  • Ability to write original correspondence.
  • Planning, organizing, and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
  • Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with emotional or confrontational circumstances and working in hot or cold weather.
  • Ability to be an effective team member and handle projects responsibly.
  • Courteous manners with customers, coworkers and management staff.
  • Strong customer and results orientation.

WORKING CONDITIONS (Physical/Mental Demands):

  • Maintaining composure in dealing with authorities, event managers, clients, staff and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.

  • May be required to use company vehicle for the performance of duties.
