BlueStar is a boutique management firm focused on supporting developers, asset managers, and community Boards in the successful operation of their resort and golf amenities.

Our expertise is in all aspects of hospitality management, including golf, spa, food & beverage, community clubs, and more, particularly in active adult or age-qualified residential communities.

We also provide full-scale landscape services in some locations. Our portfolio spans literally from coast to coast, with many beautiful locations in between.

Benefits:


New management full-time team members working 30 hours or more per week, will be eligible for the Company medical, dental and life insurance plans the first of the month following the first day of full-time employment.


Full-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Time Off ("PTO") in accordance with the Company policy at a rate of 120 hours per year.

Full-Time team members are eligible for 7 paid holidays annually.

All team members 21 years and older are eligible to participate in the J.F. Shea Co., Inc. 401(k) plan after completion of 30 days of service.


LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE POSITION OVERVIEW:


LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:


High-potential future leaders will be exposed to all facets of the business through a 12-18 month development program at the club-level.

The goal of the program is to provide participants managerial and leadership experience in the following areas:
Food & Beverage, Wellness, Facilities, Membership, Lifestyle & Activities, Golf, and Club Operations.

It also comprises lesser amounts of time in functions such as Finance & Accounting, People Services, and performing special projects.


After successful completion of this program, LDAs will have the opportunity to transition into suitable leadership roles at a Club or the Central Services office.

LDAs are expected to cycle through several supervisory roles during the duration of the program in preparation for potential leadership opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Learn and communicate the core values and mission of BlueStar Resort & Golf (BSRG) to support the achievement of company goals.
  • Ensure that a consistent set of superior standards of customer service are meeting or exceeding the expectations of members and guests at all Golf and Club facilities and events.
  • Assist the Department Managers and Club Manager in establishing goals and processes for measuring sales, revenue, new projects, and business development for the Club.
  • Understand, support, and assist in leading each department through the rotation.
  • Provide strategic intelligence to partners and clients regarding all Golf and Club initiatives, including but not limited to, vision, branding, Food & Beverage, and Operations.
  • Support the hiring process. Supervise team members and maintain effective communication related to Club operations, safety, and employee concerns.
  • Assist with budget planning and monitoring support to assure revenues and expenses are achieving and exceeding the department's financial sales goals.
  • Assist all members, guests, and fellow team members as needed.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty when the Department Manager is not available.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Club Management or Hospitality from an accredited university.
  • Food & Beverage
and hospitality related experience required.

  • Ability to relocate required.
  • Computer literate with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and PC technology.
  • Skilled in attentive customer service and responding to guest concerns.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to respond to the needs and requests of staff members, members, and guests.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Must demonstrate initiative, with an ability to think, work, solve practical problems, and make independent decisions based on sound judgment.
