Patient Service Specialist - Phoenix, United States - Valleywise Health System
Description
Under the guidance of the Manager Patient Access, this role is responsible for patient registration ensuring accuracy and timely processing of all accounts, which involves gathering and validating demographic and insurance details, as well as handling necessary paperwork for appointments. Additionally, the position secures insurance eligibility verification and collects payments due, while ensuring AHCCCS verifications are completed for all self-pay or unverifiable sources. Collaborates with management and colleagues to address billing and reimbursement issues.
Hourly Pay Rate: $25.87 Qualifications Education:- High school diploma or GED certificate required
- One to two (12) years of general clerical, customer service, or medical experience, preferably in a healthcare setting involving data reconciliation

- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to travel to various clinics as per staffing requirements
- Excellent data entry skills, including 10-key by touch and typing at least 30 words per minute with accuracy
- Basic Math Skills
- Demonstrated ability in obtaining and validating demographic information for precise and timely completion of medical records
- Good interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing, with knowledge of basic grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Capable of multitasking
- Bilingual proficiency is advantageous
