Job Description:


  • The listing of a course in the schedule of classes as "TBA" does not constitute an assignment.
  • The hiring decision for parttime faculty involves an academic judgment and shall be determined at Management's sole discretion.
  • During the academic year parttime faculty at Montgomery College may teach no more than 11.5 ESH (equivalent semester hour) per semester and no more than 23 ESH per academic year.
  • During summer parttime faculty at Montgomery College may teach no more than 10 ESH (equivalent semester hour) for both sessions combined

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • In addition to teaching, hold office hours and attend course group, norming, and/or department meetings when necessary.
  • Adhere to all college, department, and course policies, including but not limited to those related to grade submission, administration of firstday diagnostic and final exams, and communication with students and staff

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in TESOL, applied linguistics, or a related field with 15 graduate credits in TESOL.
  • Ability to integrate technology and classroom related computer software and portals, including Blackboard, for course delivery. Must be eligible to work in the United States without a sponsor.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching distance learning and/or remote (virtual) classes.
  • Experience teaching academic English as a Second Language in a postsecondary setting.
