Job Purpose


At Elite Metal Finishing, LLC., the Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Compliance Specialist I, will aid the Compliance Department in maintaining and upholding regulatory requirements specific to the aerospace industry and various other accreditation bodies.

The position will be an excellent opportunity to understand the regulatory environment with various local, state, and federal organizations pertaining to the Metal Finishing Industry.

A successful EH&S Compliance Specialist I, actively seeks continuous improvement opportunities to minimize various risks for the organization. Advanced communication and computer skills are required.


The Compliance Department supports Elite Metal Finishing quality initiatives, which includes the Quality Policy, Quality Objectives, and Quality Management System and drives continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.


Duties and Responsibilities
Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Support the operation of the acetone recycling system to maximize the acetone recovery and reducing waste.
  • Help with Waste Management Program by facilitating hazardous waste management, overseeing hazardous waste storage and shipment, and logging Manifest data for the yearly report and waste minimization program.
  • Help EHS system by updating logs, inspection records, and data repositories.
  • As required, help to meet daytoday inspection requirements at various EMF buildings and report deficiencies to Compliance Manager.
  • Assist in collecting all the required logs that contain data for the periodic reports of the Agency.
  • Help in keeping first AID kits and PPE supplies.
  • Assist with the reporting for different programs, Stormwater, CUPA, etc.
  • The Compliance Specialist I position involves identifying potential accidents, conducting facility inspections, and implementing corrective or preventive measures.
  • Additional technical projects may be assigned.
  • Hands on attitude to support Operators in the Wastewater treatment system.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Experience

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental health, Safety Sciences or a related technical degree is desired or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Viso, etc.) ,
  • 12 years in quality/regulatory field is preferred.
  • Must be able to work overtime at weekends as required.
  • Minimal travel may be required.

Pay:
$ $24.00 per hour
