Description

The Forklift Operator is responsible for the accurate storing, shipping, and receiving of product to meet company standards of safety, security and productivity with the assistance of a forklift and/or clamp truck and using an rf scanning device.

• Unload/Load shipments safely and efficiently. Keeping accurate counts and notations of overages/shortages and damaged material.
• Pull and prepare material for shipment, ensuring proper stock rotation and order accuracy.
• Move materials from staging and/or storage area into trailers and/or other transport vehicles.
• Maintain/Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner per company policies.
• Comply with all safety rules and maintain clean, neat and orderly work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• License/Certification: Valid Class B state driver's license. OSHA Forklift Training Certified.
• Minimum Experience: Several years of experience preferred.

• Must be familiar with OSHA regulations regarding the operation of a forklift, clamp truck and all other related power equipment, and the ability to observe proper operation procedures and safety practices.
• Must be able to lift/carry heavy objects, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl to be able to move materials that cannot be moved with power equipment.
• Must possess excellent verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to operate a forklift/clamp truck.
• Ability to operate hand held wireless devices for data gathering.
