    Tucson is nestled in a Sonoran Desert valley surrounded by five mountain ranges, offering around 350 sunny days a year with a pleasant climate ripe for year-round outdoor activities. From outdoor adventures to cultural experiences, Tucson has it all!

    This MA role plays a vital part in patient care at our Cancer Center. As a rooming MA, you'll be the liaison between the interdisciplinary team and patients. Your daily tasks include patient communication, prepping patients for clinic appointments, maintaining clinic rooms, collaborating with the healthcare team, and fostering relationships with key team members. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 6 pm.

    Primary location: 3838 N Campbell Ave, Tucson, AZ, 85719. There is also a satellite clinic at 1891 W Orange Grove Rd, which the MA may need to visit at times.

    POSITION SUMMARY
    This role involves assisting clinicians and nursing staff in delivering medical care, as well as evaluating direct patient care. Utilizing specialized knowledge and skills, the MA ensures an excellent patient experience.

    CORE FUNCTIONS

    • Prepares patients for exams and treatments by documenting vital signs, symptoms, and chief complaints.
    • Assists providers with exams and minor procedures; performs tasks like taking blood pressure, documenting vital signs, and administering treatments.
    • Coordinates patient care activities including authorizations, prescriptions, scheduling, and communicating test results.
    • Provides clerical support, maintaining accurate patient records, and ensuring timely billing information.
    • Maintains a clean and organized environment, performing equipment disinfection and basic maintenance tasks.
    • Orders and manages supplies, including medication-related tasks.
    • Develops effective communication with internal and external contacts.
    • Completes necessary onboarding and training activities as required.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    - High school diploma/GED or equivalent.

    - Completion of an approved medical assistant training program.

    - Active Medical Assistant Certification required.

    - BLS certification required.

    - Strong computer skills and exceptional interpersonal communication required.


    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    Experience with medical procedures, insurance, EMR, and scheduling software preferred.

    Additional related education and experience is a plus.
