Job Summary:

The Associate Business Analyst position will be responsible for understanding and measuring the performance of a Business Unit; creating weekly, monthly, and annual financial forecasts; and assisting in the month end financial close process.

The individual will support the Business Analyst in their efforts to work in conjunction with management, our buying team, and sales team serving as the Strategic Finance Business Partner responsible of the Business Unit's P/L results.


Primary Responsibilities / Essential Functions:

Onboarding/Team Member Experience**:

  • Develops a strong understanding of all aspects of the business unit's operation and has a thorough understanding of the company's accounting procedures, from material receipt through processing, shipment, and collections in order to provide valuable insight.
  • Assists in month end close process as required and completes inventory valuation monthly with sales, admin, and operations.
  • Develops an efficient and effective weekly forecasting process that produces accurate, achievable results that align with the business's strategic objectives.
  • Works with management on improving efficiencies, through metric reporting and capital justification of new equipment and or processes.
  • Creates forecasts and performance targets for each cost center.
  • Assists in the preparation and analysis of the operating plans and assigned budgets, including explanation of any assumptions used.
  • Develops strategic and frequently discussed KPIs that drive the Business Unit forward.
  • Presents Actionable Insights and recommendations to business leaders based on a thorough understanding of financial and operational results.
  • Prepares, interprets and develops presentation of financial analyses which can include: weekly operational reviews, monthly and quarterly cost center reviews for Director/Plant Manager/ELT, along with other ad hoc analysis as needed.
  • Supports Gross Margin improvement through proforma account analysis/proposals for new accounts, margin analysis, and action items for current accounts with low to no margin.
  • Designs Tableau dashboards to provide actionable information to business leaders.
  • Manages projects related to Margin Improvement opportunities.
  • Maintains the highest level of commitment to production a highquality work product while focusing on ethics, integrity, and compliance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required/Desired Qualifications & Motor/Sensory/Physical Requirements:

Education, Training, and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Economics, or related field.
  • 13 years of experience as a Business Analyst or a similar position supporting business decisions.
  • Previous experience with Tableau or Power BI is preferred.
  • Experience building decision models is required.
