Essential Duties

  • Creates, coordinates, and executes communications to support and promote Project Humanities.
  • Develops, plans, and implements the overall social media strategy to support and advance Project Humanities' online presence as well as provide daytoday oversight of Project Humanities' social media outlets (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube)
  • Guides Project Humanities team in content development including writing, editing, proofreading, photography, and videography.
  • Maintains organization and university branding standards in all marketing, communications, social media, and graphics to ensure consistency across all divisions and platforms
  • Creates /updates fliers, marketing materials, and advertisements for internal and external use
  • Assists with general office duties and helps with other projects as needed
  • Provides event support and collaborates closely with Project Humanities staff, Director, and student workers
  • Develops and proposes marketing and communications projects and initiatives to Project Humanities team
  • Develops and coordinates marketing research strategies
  • Provides marketing and communications guidance, expertise, and support to the Project Humanities team
  • Builds and nurtures relationships with Project Humanities' key stakeholders, including external community collaborators and alumni, to generate awareness of collaboration opportunities
  • Collaborates, consults with, and participates in new idea generation, brainstorming, and recommending creative ways to accomplish marketing and communication goals
  • Plans, develops, and leads the production of highquality, creative content for print and digital mediums using writing[2] and graphic design skills, including press releases, electronic newsletters, brochures, mailers, social media, presentations, and annual reports for faculty, staff, current and prospective students, investors, alumni and the general public
  • Edits or rewrites existing copy; reads and proofs materials for accuracy, style, and readability, recommending changes where necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the program.

Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field AND two years experience in development of comprehensive marketing plans; OR, Six years experience in the development of comprehensive marketing plans; OR Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.


Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrates knowledge of SEO optimization and Google Ads
  • Demonstrates knowledge of measuring and reporting performance of all digital and paid social campaigns and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)
  • Experience in Meta and media management tools
  • Demonstrates knowledge of marketing practices and principles including knowledge of media placement and basic graphics design concepts
  • Experience in strategic communication planning
  • Experience in organizational skills to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Demonstrates knowledge of humanities and of social justice

Working Environment

  • Frequently required to stand for varying lengths of time and travel moderate distances to perform work (25%).
  • Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
  • Depending on the unit/program needs, some evenings and occasional weekends may be required.
  • This position receives regular review of objectives.
