Network Automation Engineer
Anywhere, US (East coast preferred, but 100% remote with possible travel to client site on quarterly basis as requested)
Long-Term Contract

Job Duties/Responsibilities - What this person will be doing:

Serve as a subject matter expert in network automation, ensuring efficient operations and development of network management systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain network management tools, both commercial and inhouse.
Engineer, test, and deploy various projects, particularly in cloud and onpremises network infrastructure.
Provide operational support, including incident response and troubleshooting.
Design network systems for performance monitoring and configuration management.
Support enterprise DNS services and troubleshoot complex network issues.
Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to align technology solutions with customer expectations.
Ensure compliance with technology policies and participate in DR and BCP exercises.
Manage vendor relationships and mentor junior staff.

Required Skills and Experience:

Proficient in Python for tool development, API creation, and web development.
Experienced with PHP, Perl, SQL, MySQL, Ruby, MariaDB, and Apache Web server.
Strong Unix/Linux administration skills, including bash scripting.
Knowledgeable in SNMP, Syslog, and Ping monitoring tools like SevOne, Nagios, NMIS.
Skilled in using AWS and Azure, including containerization technologies like Docker.
Familiar with DNS protocols and tools like BIND and Infoblox DDI.
Able to manage enterprise change processes and familiar with development tools like Git and Jenkins.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problemsolving skills.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with teams and vendors.
