Role Overview:
The Patient Access Representative serves as the initial contact for our patients and must portray Mercy with the utmost level of customer service, empathy, and carry out all tasks aligning with our mission, principles, and Mercy service benchmarks.
The Patient Access Representative will manage all aspects of patients' admission to any Mercy facility. This may encompass appointment scheduling, registration, insurance coverage verification, pre-certification, and financial clearance, including upfront collection of fees. The Patient Access Representative is accountable for ensuring accurate patient information is gathered and inputted into the patient database. This team member must possess exceptional attention to detail and stay informed and skilled with insurance providers, Medicare regulations, as well as federal, state, and accreditation bodies.
