Research Specialist B

Job Description Summary

Perform experiments using a variety of techniques.

The position requires assisting the principal investigator with wet-up of new laboratory space, including ordering, set-up and maintenance of supplies and equipment, and assistance with transfer of laboratory protocols, laboratory website, and other new lab logistics as needed.

The position also requires laboratory purchasing, including obtaining quotes from sales representatives and selection of optimally priced laboratory reagents.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct laboratory research, troubleshoot problems, analyze data, design new research experiments along with research publications, and prepare presentations.
  • Participate in lab management and help support lab set up and operations, oversee ordering, organization and maintenance of reagents, equipment, and protocols.
  • Train and supervise other lab members as needed, provide scientific and technical expertise and guidance for other ongoing projects
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Position is contingent upon continued funding


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor of Science and 1 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
