Overview:


Responsibilities:

1.


Officiate Matches:

Serve as the primary authority during volleyball matches, enforcing rules and making fair and impartial judgments on game actions, player conduct, and violations.

2.


Ensure Fair Play:

Monitor player actions and movements to ensure compliance with rules and regulations, intervening as necessary to prevent infractions and maintain fairness.

3.


Manage Game Flow:

Control the pace of the game by signaling the start, pause, and conclusion of play, and ensuring smooth transitions between game phases.

4.


Communicate Effectively:

Clearly communicate decisions and rulings to players, coaches, and spectators, maintaining professionalism and resolving disputes with diplomacy and authority.

Enforce Sportsmanship:

Promote good sportsmanship and ethical behavior among players and teams, intervening in cases of unsportsmanlike conduct or disrespectful behavior.

6.


Maintain Rule Knowledge:

Stay updated on changes to volleyball rules and regulations, attending training sessions and workshops as required to enhance officiating skills and knowledge.

7.


Ensure Safety:

Prioritize player safety by monitoring game conditions and equipment, intervening in situations that pose a risk of injury, and coordinating with medical personnel as needed.

8.


Collaborate with Officials:

Work closely with other officials, including line judges and scorers, to ensure consistency in officiating standards and rulings throughout matches.

9.


Represent the Sport:

Serve as an ambassador for volleyball, promoting the values of fair play, teamwork, and respect for the game in all interactions on and off the court.


Requirements:


  • Deep knowledge of volleyball rules, regulations, and officiating mechanics.
  • Prior experience as a volleyball referee preferred.
  • Strong decisionmaking abilities and sound judgment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
  • Physical fitness and agility to keep pace with game action.
  • Availability to work weekends
  • Additional officiating certifications a plus.
