    Job DescriptionMinimum 1+ years special education experience required.

    Position Available: Special Education Teacher (SPED)

    Location: Hamtramck, MI (North Detroit)
    Start Date: ASAP
    End Date: June 13th, 2024
    Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week

    Position Type: Special Education Teacher

    Caseload: High School/Moderate

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with mild to moderate disabilities
    • Provide direct instruction in accordance with students' IEP goals and objectives
    • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
    • Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
    • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student success
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress and services provided
    • Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development activities as required

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field
    • Valid Michigan SPED Endorsement or certification
    • Experience working with high school students with mild to moderate disabilities
    • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills
    • Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment
