Special Education Teacher

Role Overview:
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will have a vital role in providing personalized instruction and support to students with various learning needs. You will work alongside other educators, specialists, and families to establish an inclusive learning environment where every student can flourish.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in special education or Masters/Doctoral degree in Special Education/Teaching Students with Special Needs
Must possess a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with special education endorsement.

Key Responsibilities
As a special education teacher in our district, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, in collaboration with parents, guardians, and other members of the educational team.
Tailor instruction to meet the unique learning styles and abilities of each student.
Use a variety of teaching techniques, assistive methods, and accommodations to facilitate student learning.
Track student progress, gather data, and adapt teaching strategies as necessary to ensure student development and success.
Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and related service providers to advocate for the integration of students with special needs in mainstream education.
Create a welcoming and supportive classroom atmosphere that values diversity and encourages acceptance and empathy among all students.
