Position Snapshot:

The Continuous Improvement Supervisor assists to improve and maintain Safety, Quality and Efficiency by working with teams on the shop floor and in office environments.

They are always looking for ways to improve productivity, reduce costs, and make the best use of the business's resources.

This position reports to plant leadership with a dotted line report to the Regional Continuous Improvement Manager.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:


  • Assist in developing the Lean culture, including identification of improvement opportunities at facility and coordinating/leading improvement teams with a core focus on elimination of waste and nonvalueadded activities.
  • Identify process improvements and support the tracking and implementation of these projects to production.
  • Lead and direct improvement teams for 5S, Kaizen, or Quality projects.
  • Evaluate Safety, Quality and Production data to prioritize areas of potential improvement.


  • Support operational priorities

  • Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost Containment.
  • Support and help maintain the MDI process at plants.
  • Help to identify takt time in order determine equipment and labor requirements to support capacity, product, or volume changes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Intermediate knowledge of business productivity and presentation software (Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.)
  • Strong team player; works well with all levels of employees collaboratively and respectfully.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and deliver against aggressive schedule pressures.
  • Ability to gather and document production requirements.
  • Ability to prioritize, delegate, track and coordinate multiple tasks.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and creative problemsolving ability.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 2+ years experience in manufacturing with shop floor experience required.
  • Certification in Lean or Six Sigma preferred.
  • 2+ years experience in utilizing Lean manufacturing techniques preferred.
  • 2+ years leading process improvement initiatives preferred.

Requirements:


  • Must reside in the continental U.S. within the assigned region. No relocation assistance is provided.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.

Typical Schedule:
Work is generally performed Monday-Friday, 40+ hours per week depending on workload and production demands.


Typical Physical Demands:
Physical agility, which may require any or all of the following: standing, sitting, walking, climbing, reaching, bending/stooping, lifting (50lbs. max), pushing/pulling (50lbs. max).


Working Conditions:

Work is generally performed in a production environment, with ambient weather/air conditions, loud noise, dangerous equipment, and variable lighting.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in all production areas. Office work will be performed in clean, climate-controlled areas, with fluorescent lighting.

Based on skills, knowledge, and experience.
