Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Researches products, contacts vendors, determines serviceability standards, and makes recommendations to department heads. Places orders and expedites all purchase orders to keep delivery dates in line with organization deadlines.
  • Maintains knowledge and proficiency in all aspects of the Materials Management information system, as well as a working knowledge of the Finance practices and procedures that interface with the Materials Management function.
  • Works with other departments to coordinate material handling and set up time frames for delivery and distribution of products for projects. Stays up to date on the performance and duties of other Materials Management personnel the Receiver, the Supply Clerk, and the Purchasing Coordinator
- so that during periods of their scheduled or unscheduled absence the Expeditor can act as the back-up for each position.

  • Maintains product knowledge about stock and nonstock items and shares this information with Materials Management customers. May keep departmental MSDS files and maintains the Safety Manual.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications:

Education:
High School required, college preferred

Experience:
One to three years buying
medical, maintenance, & disposable products

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Procurement, receiving, inventory, distribution, & computer proficiency
