Through securing concerts, offering mentorship and career training, and providing PR materials, we have helped launch nearly 300 careers of leading classical musicians working in every corner of our industry.

We offer the essential tools, opportunities, and infrastructure needed to elevate their careers to the highest levels.

YCA continues to build upon our unparalleled legacy, empowering today's brilliant young artists to gain the transformational experiences and skills required to lead the future of classical music.


YCA boasts an extensive range of annual activities, securing over 740 performance engagements each year through our Artist Management department.

These include more than 240 school and community engagement activities, predominantly organized in New York City and Washington DC.

Annually, we present 15-20 public concerts in these key cities and conduct the Susan Wadsworth International Auditions each fall, attracting some of the most promising concert soloists and composers from around the globe.

Our offices are based in NYC, and we are also supported by a vibrant community devoted patrons in Washington DC.

YCA hosts two annual Galas and various donor cultivation events, all supported by our passionate and generous community. Our dedicated team consists of 13 full-time and two part-time staff members.

We are seeking a smart, collaborative individual eager to join our team and support our collective efforts.


Job Duties to Include:

Office Management:


  • Coordinate weekly financial operations with YCA's Accountant and Bookkeeper
  • Manage project and event budgets, and coordinate payments
  • Manage communications with YCA's office building management
  • Order and maintain office supplies
  • Coordinate with external vendors for office equipment maintenance

Staff Support:


  • Schedule and organize staff, leadership, and crossdepartmental meetings
  • Onboarding staff with benefits, and helping coordinate staff benefits as needed
  • Manage software licenses and serve as the primary contact for YCA's external IT support
  • Coordinate technology onboarding for new staff
  • Research and help implement new software and techrelated platforms
  • Assist new staff in acquiring tech equipment, software accounts, passwords, office phone account
  • Provide office support for new job postings and coordinating job interviews

Assisting the President:


  • Organize the President's calendar and coordinate his meetings with staff, Board members, donors, industry contacts, and artists
  • Coordinate Board and committee meetings, providing necessary administrative support
  • Assist the President with various administrative tasks, including receipt tracking, travel logistics, project management
  • Help plan and coordinate alumni events
  • Filing and archiving YCA contracts, Board materials, and other important documents

Qualifications:


  • 5+ years experience as an office manager or as a project manager in an office setting
  • Fluency with office software and technology including Google Suite, Excel, Mac and PC laptops, copy machines
  • Strong experience with budgeting, basic accounting, financial tracking
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, enjoys helping a team stay organized and efficient
  • High degree of professionalism and discretion around confidential matters
  • Familiarity with classical music a plus, nonprofit experience preferred
  • This position will require travel around New York City and may include occasional travel outside of NYC. YCA currently operates with a hybrid model of 3days in the office (Tues, Wed and Thurs) and 2days working remotely (Mon and Fri). This individual must be able to come to the Manhattan office 3days a week. There will be occasional work in the evenings and weekends._

Salary range:
$65,000 - $75,000
