Location: 1020 S Olive St, Los Angeles, CA 90015


Rate of pay:
$72,000 annually


Schedule:
Full-time; 8-hour shifts

Position summary:

The food service manager is responsible for the management of food services, which includes the cafeteria and special center functions, in compliance with government and management directives.


Essential responsibilities include:


  • Plan, coordinate and supervise the administrative and food service activities of the department.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new and revised policies and procedures affecting food services.
  • Plan the menu.
  • Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students. Prepare related reports.
  • Conduct inspections of food service areas.
  • Ensure quality of production and food purchase requirements; maintain cost control to stay within budget limitations; assist in inventory control.

Education and experience requirements:


  • Either a bachelors degree and one year of related experience or an associates degree and two years of related experience is required. Directly related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Must have a valid food handler permit issued by the State of California or be able to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
