Program Overview
The Comcast Cooperative Educational Program (Co-op) immerses students into the daily operations of a contemporary media and technology company while working side-by-side with Comcast's top innovators.
Designed for students whose curriculum allows for a cooperative learning track, the co-op becomes an integral part of the Comcast team working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units.
Throughout the experience, there is opportunity for exposure to mentorship and professional development while having some fun along the way.
Role OverviewWe are looking for an entry-level machine learning engineer that would be part of our rapidly growing Data & Metrics squad that's part of the Content Discovery crew that owns the full stack and operationalization of our personalized product offerings.
You will be responsible for designing and building data and training pipeline components for the Comcast Personalization/Relevance Platform that is used by millions of customers of Comcast and its partners every day.
We use sophisticated Data Pipelines which consume, and process millions of events generate training datasets, and populate the usage events to highly scalable and performant databases.
Responsible for Development and Maintenance of highly Performant Java/Python based Microservices to Kubernetes Cluster that return the usage events.You will work with other engineers and researchers to build a variety of Machine/Deep Learning models over this data to personalize the content the users watch.
As a key member of the team, you will help define, refine, and test state-of-the-art data/training pipelines, and scale the associated systems for high performance, stability, and availability in the cloud.
Co-op responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Building the data and training pipelines that fuel the personalization and relevance platform.
Able to write efficient and performant code with a good Unit Test coverage.
Building Java/Python Microservices.
Developing a platform that applies continuous delivery principles to the deployment of these pipelines.
Using data and metrics to inform your decision making.
Using infrastructure as code wherever vital such as Terraform.
Using Workflow management tools such as Airflow.
Preferred Qualifications
Able to write efficient code using one or more general purpose programming languages – Java, Scala, Go, or Python
Familiarity with server-side or cloud development experience (preferably AWS)
Familiarity distributed processing technologies such as Spark
Familiarity with Tools such as Databricks/Terraform/Concourse
Preferred Majors:
Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering or related technical field.
Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree from a United States-based college or university that has a cooperative learning track.
Available to work 40 hours per week for 6 months starting April 1, 2024 through September 20, 2024.
Available to report in-person to the work location provided above.
3.0 minimum cumulative GPA preferred.
