The primary purpose of the position is to provide research support for the Sengupta and Meisel labs by making nematode and bacterial growth media, making solutions, taking care of glassware and biological waste.


Job Description:


  • Makes nematode and bacterial growth media and plates 75%
  • Makes solutions 20%
  • Takes care of glassware and biological waste 5%
Hours are flexible. Can work off hours once trained to have access to machines.


Job Requirements:

  • Associate degree or equivalent in Biology
  • Must be experienced working in a lab. Must be comfortable working with lab instruments and autoclaves. Must be able to lift and move heavy glassware and trash bags.
  • Requires good motor skills to be able to pour hundreds of growth plates.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and frequently with supervisors verbally or in writing. Will keep simple records.
  • Ability to work on a team. Must be able to work carefully, independently, and responsibly.
