DLR Group's Design team is seeking a Project Manager to lead our Justice+Civic practice in Texas, operating within a hybrid work model allowing flexibility between office and remote work.

This role could be located in cities such as Austin, Dallas, or Houston.

As an expert in Justice+Civic design, DLR Group collaborates with various public-sector clients to deliver exceptional design solutions for civic, public safety, and justice facilities.

As stewards of the built environment, DLR Group's Justice+Civic practice focuses on enhancing behavioral, social, and environmental aspects, fostering healing, equity, and community transformation.

Position Summary

As the Project Manager for the Justice+Civic sector, you'll oversee projects to ensure budget adherence, timely delivery, and design excellence.

You will be hands-on in supervising architectural, engineering, and design staff throughout project phases, collaborating with vendors and consultants as necessary for projects of varying complexity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage public sector projects of different scales.
  • Develop project work plans for successful project outcomes.
  • Coordinate all project efforts for efficient execution.
  • Act as the main client contact for project completion within budget and schedule.
  • Build and maintain client relationships.
  • Participate in client events and regional outreach.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and communications.
  • Assist in business development activities.
  • Contribute to office and regional meetings.
  • Estimate fees, define project scope, and prepare contracts.
  • Utilize excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrate expertise in programming and planning.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience, with 4+ years leading large-scale public sector Architecture projects
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills
  • Occasional travel required
  • Construction administration experience
  • Knowledge of building code and construction methods

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Planifi and/or Deltek Vantagepoint
  • 5+ years working on various public sector projects
  • Proficiency in REVIT, CAD, and other design software
  • LEED Accreditation
  • Interest in sustainable building design
