Organizational Relationships:
Reports to Team Leader.

Works alongside a team of painters, including job leads, experienced painters, and apprentices, in all activities related to the accomplishment of assigned projects.


Basic Function:
The Experienced Painter is a key contributor to the successful execution of painting projects. This role involves overseeing and actively participating in all painting functions, demonstrating advanced knowledge of techniques, materials, and finishes. The Experienced Painter ensures project quality, adherence to safety standards, and effective collaboration within the team. Additionally, they may engage in client interactions to understand preferences and address concerns.

Has the Ability to perform all standard painting functions.

Standard Painting Functions

  • Lead painting projects by overseeing the team and coordinating tasks to achieve project goals.
  • Provide guidance and training to less experienced painters and apprentices.
  • Assess project requirements and recommend appropriate materials, techniques, and finishes.
  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure finished work meets industry standards and client expectations.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their painting needs, offering expert recommendations.
  • Demonstrate mastery in a diverse range of painting techniques, including decorative and faux finishes.
  • Expertly prepare surfaces for painting, utilizing advanced methods for cleaning, sanding, and patching.
  • Ensure readiness for projects with a complete and wellmaintained set of production tools.
  • Safely use and maneuver ladders and power equipment such as sanders and sprayers.

Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership skills, inspiring and guiding a diverse team of painters.
  • Indepth knowledge of jobsite safety practices, with a commitment to implementation and enforcement.
  • Strong communication abilities for effective collaboration with team members, Field Supervisors, and customers.
  • Proficient in documenting daily activities, safety procedures, and project details accurately.
  • Eagerness to continuously improve leadership skills and contribute to a positive team culture.
  • Experience in providing onthejob training and coaching, fostering the growth of team members.
  • Demonstrated project management expertise, setting and achieving quarterly goals, and ensuring quality control.
  • Strong customer interaction skills, acting as the primary customer contact onsite and completing Customer Walkthroughs.
  • Adaptability to policy changes and flexibility to move team members between projects for operational success.
  • Understanding of financial leadership principles related to project revenue and costs.
  • Accurate and timely reporting of accidents or injuries, with proficiency in maintaining clear documentation.
  • English language proficiency

Work Conditions of the role are:

  • Work conditions may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and loud noises
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks which require following basic safety precautions
  • Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work within or visit areas where required. This includes, safety glasses, reflective vest, ear plugs, and other PPE as required by the location
