The Controls Engineer is responsible for:
Designing, developing, installing, managing and/or maintaining equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery, and processes.
Develop a request for proposal (RFP), perform project estimates, and write an authorization for expenditure (AFE) to acquire project funds after identifying new ideas and technologies for project developments.
Reviews process and equipment design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and contract requirements and specifications. Analyze data and write technical report and recommendations. Prepare control system basis of analysis and design documents. Provide technical and consultancy support on instrumentation and controls system and project activities for Maintenance, Operations, Engineering and Procurement. Provide input into major overhaul planning/scheduling contract services, and project activities. Assist in preparing annual capital and expense budgets and developing new business proposals.Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or ability required.
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field.
Five years of experience as a Controls Engineer, Power Plant Instrumentation and Controls Specialist, or similar duties under a different job title.
Five years working in power plant instrumentation and process control systems, layout, design, and operation.Five years installing, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and maintaining process control equipment, PLC, DCS, and instrumentation of a hydropower or geothermal power plant.
Five years of technical experience in the field of project management, machine installation, operation, testing, and commissioning of various electromechanical systems.
