The Children's Center, a non-profit agency, is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of young children, one family at a time. Our mission is to nurture and educate children and their families. We provide opportunities for education, parenting support and resources to families in our communities.

The Children's Center Head Start/Early Head Start is a federally funded program that provides no cost services to qualifying families who reside in the community. Comprehensive services are provided to pregnant women and their partners and children from birth to 5. Child development, health and family services are provided through a variety of program options designed to meet the needs of low-income and at-risk families.

Our Administrative Assistants

  • Work in a collaborative environment and foster positive relationships with staff, parents, and children.
  • Provide customer services by answering telephone calls, greeting visitors and parents, providing information and assistance, referring to appropriate personnel, and taking messages and appointments.
  • Open the center daily and prepare for operation.
  • Sort and process mail and maintains records and charts.
  • Stay dedicated to our mission in order to build an educational foundation for each child to grow cognitively, emotionally, and physically each day.
We are most interested in applicants who

  • Have 13 years of experience working in an administrative position
  • Have knowledge of and level of competence associated with clerical or administrative work
  • Have familiarity and experience with computers and job related software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Have CPR/First Aid training and/or MAT training.
  • Flexibility with work hours and scheduling
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Qualifications:


  • Associates Degree in a related field
  • 13 years of experience in an early childhood setting and/or administrative position is preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License
