Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute is one of the region's largest orthopedic and sports medicine practices, providing comprehensive care for more than 250,000 patients each year.

In August 2023, the institute opened Florida's first dedicated orthopedic hospital, featuring 75 private inpatient rooms, 10 operating suites with four virtually connected suites that can be used to train surgeons around the world, and a state-of-the-art research and innovation center with a 10-station bio skills lab and 3D printer.


In March 2023, a new medical pavilion opened adjacent to the hospital and houses outpatient clinics, an imaging suite, physical therapy spaces and the largest orthopedic ambulatory surgery center in Florida.

Expertise, technology and services come together under one roof and cover the whole spectrum of care — from prevention and diagnostics to therapeutic and surgical treatment options to physical therapy, rehabilitation and performance health.

Responsibilities:


The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for cleaning, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of instruments and equipment.

  • The Sterile Processing Technician works under the direct supervision of the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) Operations Specialist, or SPD Supervisor, must be able to work cooperatively with other members of the Surgical and Sterile Processing Team.
  • Demonstrates a sense of professionalism and ethical standards.
  • Able to complete tasks as assigned and use the appropriate resources and references available for processing instrumentation and equipment.
  • Using attained knowledge of sterilization processes, the Sterile Processing Technician will begin to learn to work independently in an everchanging technical environment.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Education/Training
High school graduate or equivalent.


Licensure/Certification

Within first year of employment:

  • Successful completion of the Orlando Health SPD Core Course.
  • Maintain 12 continuing education points per year.
