As a Senior Accountant specializing in External Reporting, you will play a critical role in ensuring the
accuracy, transparency, and compliance of our organization's financial disclosures to external
stakeholders.
Your expertise in financial reporting, knowledge of accounting principles, and attention to detail will be instrumental in presenting a clear and comprehensive picture of our financial performance to investors, regulatory agencies, and other external parties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Daily/Weekly Accounting ActivitiesReview Financial Data:
Daily, the senior accountant should review and reconcile financial data
from various sources, such as the general ledger, sub-ledgers, and supporting documentation, to
ensure accuracy and completeness.
Monitor Journal Entries:
Regularly review and approve journal entries to ensure proper
accounting treatment for transactions and adherence to accounting policies.
Address Inquiries:
Respond to internal inquiries regarding financial transactions, account
balances, or other related matters to support the needs of cross-functional teams.
Update Ad Hoc Financial Reports:
Continuously update and maintain financial reports that are
used for internal management and decision-making purposes.
Monitor Filing Deadlines:
Keep track of upcoming filing deadlines for external reports and
coordinate with relevant stakeholders to gather necessary information.
Analyze Financial Trends:
Conduct weekly financial analysis to identify trends, significant
variances, and areas that may require further investigation or explanation.
Collaborate with Teams:
Work closely with other finance and accounting teams to obtain the
required information for external reporting and ensure consistency across various financial
documents.
Monthly Accounting Activities
Month-End Closing:
Participate in the month-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate
recording of financial transactions.
Account Reconciliations:
Conduct detailed account reconciliations for key balance sheet and
income statement accounts to identify and resolve any discrepancies.
Variance Analysis:
Perform monthly variance analysis comparing actual financial results to
budgeted or forecasted figures, investigating, and explaining significant variances.
Internal Reporting:
Generate internal management reports to provide insights into financial
performance and trends.
Technical Accounting Research:
Conduct research on complex accounting issues, assess their
impact on financial reporting, and provide guidance to internal stakeholders.
Ad Hoc Reporting:
Respond to ad hoc requests for financial information or analysis from
management, auditors, or other stakeholders.
Ensure Timely Filing:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely and accurate
filing of all monthly financial reports and supporting documentation.
Quarterly/Annual Accounting Activities
Financial Statement Audit:
Provide required documentation and addressing any audit inquiries
for the year-end financial statement audit.
State Reporting:
Lead the preparation of the annual financial reports (AFRs) due to the
respective states.
Bond Reporting:
Prepare combining quarterly financial statements for bondholders, including
budget vs. actual. On an annual basis, assist with the preparation of the annual report.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Education, Licensure, or Certification:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.

1. 5+ years of experience in accounting, at both transactional and analysis level
