This is a part-time position in the Development Services Department, which reports directly to the Department Director.

This position is directly responsible for a wide variety of high-level tasks, including administrative support to the Development Services Department, and may assist with planning, organizing, coordinating special projects, and processing the department's financial warrants and procurement procedures.

Work is done under general supervision by the Department Director or Manager with standardized guidelines and policies.


Essential Job Functions:

Under the direction of the Department Director, the Special Projects Coordinator is required to perform the following essential job functions:

  • Plans, organizes, and coordinates special projects and programs within the Development Services Department
  • Conducts research and analyzes data to make recommendations based on studies performed
  • Assists with the processing of department financial warrants and procurement expenses
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Knowledge of modern office practices, systems, and technology
  • Ability to analyze a variety of administrative problems and make sound recommendations

  • Ability to make effective and professional presentations in a group and/or individually
  • Must be selfmotivated, highly energetic, positive, creative, and willing to participate in a fastpaced, team environment
  • Establish and maintain cooperative work relationships internally and externally

Qualifications

Graduation from high school, supplemented by previously completed or current courses from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, political science, recreation and leisure, or related field, and one (1) year of administrative support, is highly desirable.
