Project LYFT Site Director - Make a Difference with PHMC

About Us:
PHMC, a leading nonprofit public health institute, has partnered with several Philadelphia schools, including William T.

Tilden Middle School, John Bartram High School, The Boys Latin School of Philadelphia (HS), and Martin Luther King High School, to our Project LYFT After-School and Summer Out-of-School Time (OST) Program.

Project LYFT empowers students with reading, writing, math, science, and technology skills through interactive, project-based learning. We're dedicated to fostering a brighter future for over 680 students in grades 5-12.


Role Overview:
The Site Director plays a pivotal role in driving excellence within our Project LYFT programs.

They serve as the linchpin, skillfully managing the intricate details of our initiatives and overseeing day-to-day operations at the program site.

Their expertise is vital in upholding the highest standard of program delivery. Positioned at the forefront, the Site Director actively shapes the program's success.

Reporting directly to Project LYFT's Assistant Director, they work in close collaboration with school leaders and PHMC staff to envision and actualize enriching programs.

The core mission is to create a vibrant environment that seamlessly integrates leadership development, essential life skills, service learning, and cutting-edge technology education.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Oversee daytoday operations of the OST site
  • Foster a studentcentered learning atmosphere, emphasizing leadership and techbased programming
  • Lead and mentor a passionate team of Program Leaders, Instructors, and Academic Specialists
  • Ensure compliance with PHMC policies and 21st CCLC requirements
  • Collaborate on program schedules and curriculum development
  • Spearhead recruitment efforts and community engagement
  • Show off participants' achievements with an exciting yearend event
  • Fulfill reporting requirements and attend essential trainings

Desired Skills:


  • Strong understanding of youth development best practices
  • Ability to connect with both middle school (5th8th grade) and high school (9th12th grade) students
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of the major social media platforms.
  • Knowledgeable in media arts, production (including audio and visual), as well as other mediabased skills
  • Knowledgeable about projectbased learning and nonprofit management best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Technologically proficient, particularly in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Qualifications:


  • Three years of experience working with children and/or adolescents, particularly underserved populations
  • Professional experience supervising a team of two or more
  • Familiarity with Google Docs and administrative principles
  • High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in social work, education, or related field preferred
  • Must successfully pass necessary background checks

Salary:
Grade 18
