    Recreation/Activities Associate

    We are looking for a motivated and reliable recreation assistant to organize and supervise activity programs. The recreation assistant will be responsible for planning and executing activity programs, supervising and assisting participants, and ensuring that the facilities and equipment are clean and safe for use.

    To be successful as a recreation assistant you should be able to devise engaging and enjoyable activities. An outstanding recreation assistant should have a lot of patience, a positive attitude, and be comfortable working with people of all ages.

    Job Summary:

    The Recreation Attendant is responsible for assisting resort guests with equipment; explaining proper equipment usage and safety; and monitoring the activities during operating hours.

    Overview:

    • Maintains assigned areas and equipment; including distributing equipment and instructing guests on proper usage.
    • Issues activity and safety equipment.
    • Maintaining and cleaning recreation equipment and facilities.
    • Follows proper service and maintenance schedules for equipment and activity surfaces.
    • Uses equipment according to established procedures.
    • Setting up activity equipment such as tables, instruments, electronics, etc.
    • Provides a sociable and professional atmosphere at all times.
    • Assisting participants during activities.
    • Assisting recreation staff in conducting sports, games, and events.
    • Maintains knowledge of all Resort facilities in order to enhance guest satisfaction.
    • Requests proper identification from guests for facility usage in order to avoid abuse/misuse of Resort facilities and equipment.
    • Ensuring participants' safety.
    • Practices safety procedures in the performance of all duties.
    • Verifies cash totals and change supply at the beginning and end of each shift; follows proper cash register operation procedures; accurately accounts for all monies received and places in the drop safe at the end of the day.
    • Performing administrative tasks such as filling out paperwork and answering telephones.
    • Weekends and Holidays required.

    Job Qualifications:

    • High School degree or equivalent preferred.
    • Ability to interact with guests and coordinate social activities.
    • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
    • Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
    • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
    • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
    • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
    • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
    • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
    • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with SRR Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
    • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
    • Comply with SRR Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
    • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
    • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
    • Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
    • Must be able to cross-train in other hotel related areas.
    • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
    • Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
    • Perform other duties as requested by management.
    • Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times
