Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manage, supervise and oversee 6 medical billers
- Create a harmonious and structured work environment
- Manager, oversee and participate in the following duties with the team:
- Analyzing accounts receivable reports to identify problems on accounts, research accounts/trends and take appropriate actions to promote reimbursement
- Understanding and use of best medical billing practices and strict adherence to regulations
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD10, and HCPCS codes, as well as appropriate modifier usage
- Familiar with billing all major medical insurances, including Medicare and commercial payers
- Ability to work independently and collectively toward team goals
- Efficient and effective multitasking
- Ability to communicate effectively and congenially with patients and staff members in person and over the phone
- Ability to accept supervision and feedback
- Review medical documentation and billing for errors, to ensure a clean claim is submitted the first time
- Follow up on unpaid and denied claims
- Post Payments
- Comply with all company policies and procedures found in the employee handbook.
- Oversee automated billing processes within billing software, including managing remittance and postings, followup on denials, correcting claims within hold status and reviewing accounts receivable, aging and collections reports.
- Submit documentation as needed for appeals.
- Submit timely claims after provider encounters, review documentation, coding, authorization, and insurance eligibility before submissions
- Performs regular reconciliation and correction of remittance records, missing slips, and other billing tasks
- Performs regular billing of noshows, inpatient encounters, and nonfacetoface encounters
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Ten years of experience in billing, coding, and collections in a healthcare setting
- Graduated from an accredited Billing Program
- Certified Coding Specialist preferred
- Experience with Advanced MD preferable
- Experience With Practice Fusion preferable
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Uptodate knowledge of medical billing principles and practices, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems; Practice Fusion experience is a plus.
- Ability to manage a team with Independent decisionmaking; ability to exercise independent judgment.

$ $30.00 per hour
