GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE


The Specialty Beauty Advisor - Chanel (SBA - Chanel) is responsible for maximizing sales in the Chanel brand (including color cosmetics, skincare and fragrance) by engaging guests to determine their individual needs, assisting guests in the selection and purchase of merchandise, and maintaining overall store standards, including cleanliness and replenishment.

The SBA - Chanel represents the image, products and culture of Ulta Beauty and the Chanel brand to the Ulta Beauty guest and supports the Experience Manager (EM) through a focus on performance (service/retail sales and in-store events), people (guest service and associate culture), and process (operating procedures and compliance standards).

This position requires a passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and the aptitude to learn and communicate product knowledge.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Job Functions)

The SBA - Chanel is a champion of Ulta Beauty's mission, vision and values, and should demonstrate them skillfully and consistently by performing the following duties and responsibilities of the position (as well as all other projects/duties as assigned):

Performance

  • Meet or exceed Chanel brand sales and clientele goals and contribute to meeting or exceeding the store's goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty (including credit), retail shrink and omnichannel sales as set by Ulta Beauty.
  • Build the business by achieving sales targets, using all levers such as product services and data capture to build guest loyalty, recruit new guests, and grow guest return rate by building and maintaining strong guest relationships.
  • Ensure that each guest receives exceptional service by greeting and engaging every guest, personalizing service to their needs, offering samples, and recommending complementary products and/or services.
  • Have solid knowledge of the Chanel brand, its heritage and knowhow, and share it with guests and the team.
  • Grow and enhance business by demonstrating and executing exclusive Chanel services.
  • Book appointments for and support the execution of services and instore events that provide an unrivaled guest experience while delivering on sales goals for the Chanel brand and the store.
  • Remain informed and participate in promotions and marketing initiatives within the brand and throughout all categories/departments of the Ulta Beauty store.
  • Use the Chanelprovided clientele system to obtain guest information; follow up consistently with guests after sales and/or sampling to build loyalty and grow the business.
  • Take the initiative to stay informed regarding new and existing industry trends, products, and services during work time, and be knowledgeable about the ingredients and benefits of these trends, products, and services to better serve guests. Maintain prompt, regular attendance.

People

  • Contribute to an inclusive environment that supports teammates, peers, and the internal and external guests served.
  • Build, maintain, and successfully provide superior service to every guest, every day through the Chanel service ritual in order to grow a customer list for Chanel brand sales.
  • Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, with guests on the sales floor.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Chanel brand partners through participation in required trainings, and the execution of instore events and promotions.
  • Address and successfully resolve guest concerns according to Chanel and Ulta Beauty philosophy and standards.
  • Collaborate with managers and associates throughout the store to help grow the business. Attend seasonal seminars hosted by brand partners and regularly participate in ongoing training, including brand and category education, to enable continuous professional development and drive Chanel brand sales performance.

Process

  • Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty's policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Know and understand the opportunities related to Chanel products within Ulta Beauty.
  • Model brand image and expectations by adhering to the Ulta Beauty and Chanel brand dress code, including wearing brand assets as directed.
  • Drive sales by keeping assigned work area replenished, signed and faced, and ensuring testers are available and maintained in compliance with hygiene standards.
