    Description
    Job Summary:

    These roles support a Manager or Director of Social Services in managing either an entire Social Services department or specific service(s), program(s), or function(s). For instance, in a Home Health department or hospice, the Assistant Manager of Social Services assists in overseeing Social Service programs, providing supervision to social workers, developing budgets and plans, implementing quality improvement programs, and establishing policies and procedures.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Plan, develop, and enhance social services policies and procedures.
    • Deliver social work programs and services.
    • Manage budget and patient/community planning services.
    • Lead and supervise staff, ensuring competencies.
    • Provide clinical supervision and consultation.
    • Develop, implement, and monitor quality management programs.
    • Analyze staff development needs and provide educational services.
    • Manage departmental budget, costs, and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Resolve human resources and performance issues.
    • Address safety and risk management concerns.
    • Participate in developing new programs and grant proposals.
    • Collaborate with community organizations and medical professionals.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
    Minimum Requirements:
    • At least three (3) years of clinical social work experience.
    • Minimum of two (2) years of management experience.
    • Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California and National Provider Identifier.
    Additional Qualifications:
    • Proficiency in fiscal and program management.
    • Knowledge of social services treatment, human development, and psycho dynamics.
    • Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • One (1) year in social work supervision in an acute hospital setting.
