Our team of 52 employees combines the economic interests of forest owners with the ecological and social demands placed on the forests of the Bergisches Land region.

Overall, we are responsible for approximately 76,000 hectares of forest land.

78% of this land is privately owned, with around 7,000 forest owners organized into 35 forest management associations, three forest neighborhoods, and one forest management association.

Their umbrella organization is the Forest Management Association of the Bergisches Land.

The foresters in our 26 forest management districts serve as knowledgeable contacts for 1.8 million people in the Bergisches Land region for all matters related to the forest.

In addition, 6 rangers are dedicated to forest nature conservation and managing recreational activities in the urban forest areas.

Another focus is our forest education work, which aims to introduce children and young people to the forest.
