Accounting Assistant

JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Accounting Assistant performs a variety of tasks and duties which may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Scan and collate invoices daily.
  • Match vendor remittances with checks for mailing.
  • Log and code electric, gas, and phone utility invoices for payment daily.
  • Maintain vehicle maintenance and gasoline receipts; balance and code related invoices. Maintain log of main extension contracts; assist in preparing main extension contract audits and prepare information to record completed main extension contracts.
  • Maintain miscellaneous accounts receivables from nonutility customers.
  • Assist with biweekly payroll processing.
  • Process monthly and quarterly state and local sales tax filings and check requisitions. File and maintain Accounting Department records and log location of critical documents.
  • Assist in monthend and yearend accounting close.
  • Assist with Billing Operations
  • Process third party vendor changes or updates regarding Billing accounts.
  • Process customer payments, prepare bank deposits, and cash reporting.
  • Provide support to the Customer Service Representatives and Meter Readers.
  • Assist the Billing System Analyst I with filing and shredding.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Controller and Billing Supervisor.
SKILLS* KNOWLEDGE AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Skills, knowledge and physical requirements include, but are not limited to the following.

  • Excellent personal computer skills and working knowledge with Word and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of fax machine, multifunction copier and 10 key adding machine.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to interact with supervisors, coworkers, and other employees in a cooperative and professional manner.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical activities using feet, legs, hands, and arms and which include use of keyboard, multiline telephone/switchboard, walk, sit, bend, stoop, climb stairs, lift up to 20 lbs., reach, grasp, push and pull.

ARIZONA WATER COMPANY

EDUCATION TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE The following are required:
High school graduate or equivalent.

Minimum 1 year of clerical and computer operations or related experience.

Valid Arizona driver's license and acceptable driving record.


Pay:
From $20.71 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
