Primary Responsibilities:

Under close supervision, acquire job skills and learn company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks
Comply with all laboratory safety protocols, including, but not limited to, use personal protective equipment (PPE), proper laboratory techniques, disposal of Bio-Hazard waste
File slides and tissue blocks
Retrieve, store and dispose of samples
Assist with document management
Document any STAT specimens and assist the technical staff with immediate testing
Assist in sample logistics as necessary
Assist with various projects/other duties as assigned by direct supervisor
Load slides on stainers
Board completed cases and collate appropriate paper work
Collect specimens from onsite offices and complete chain of custody form
Pull special stain list and retrieve blocks for the histotechs to process
Answer questions about pathology samples from clients

Required Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent
Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

1+ years of laboratory related experience
Proven ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently
Proven ability to follow precise directions in situation requiring speed, accuracy and efficiency
