Primary Responsibilities:


  • Under close supervision, acquire job skills and learn company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks
  • Comply with all laboratory safety protocols, including, but not limited to, use personal protective equipment (PPE), proper laboratory techniques, disposal of Bio-Hazard waste
  • File slides and tissue blocks
  • Retrieve, store and dispose of samples
  • Assist with document management
  • Document any STAT specimens and assist the technical staff with immediate testing
  • Assist in sample logistics as necessary
  • Assist with various projects/other duties as assigned by direct supervisor
  • Load slides on stainers
  • Board completed cases and collate appropriate paper work
  • Collect specimens from onsite offices and complete chain of custody form
  • Pull special stain list and retrieve blocks for the histotechs to process
  • Answer questions about pathology samples from clients

Required Qualifications:


  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:


  • 1+ years of laboratory related experience
  • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently
  • Proven ability to follow precise directions in situation requiring speed, accuracy and efficiency
