The KION Battery Systems GmbH (KBS) is a joint venture between KION GROUP AG and BMZ Holding GmbH, manufacturing powerful 48 and 80-volt lithium-ion battery systems for the electric forklifts of KION's subsidiary companies STILL and Linde Material Handling at its location in Kahl am Main since 2020.

Since 2022, the location has expanded to include a second production line for 24-volt batteries used in electrified warehouse equipment.


Due to our growth, we are currently seeking a Project Manager (m/f/d) for Energy Storage Systems to join our team at the earliest possible date.


Your responsibilities:


  • Project management for the optimization of existing products and development of new products in the field of electric energy storage systems for mobile applications
  • Consistent management of projects in terms of meeting deadlines and budgets
  • Evaluation of customer requirements, creation of project performance descriptions and project plans, variant control and management
  • Development of modular systems based on new system architectures
  • Integration of new battery components
  • Coordination of project stakeholders
  • Responsibility for the entire product development process
  • Technical negotiations with suppliers in collaboration with central purchasing
  • Supplier comparison and selection
  • Management of projects in the field of energy storage systems

Your profile:


  • Completed degree in industrial engineering, engineering or a related field
  • PhD desired
  • Several years of professional experience in a similar position
  • Project experience, preferably in the field of
