COMPETITIVE SALARY & BENEFITS

Auto-promotion up to $95,846 annually**
Bi-annual step increases of 2.5% up to Step 14

3% Annual Across-the-Board Salary Increases in February 2025/2026**- **Salary increases contingent upon Property Related Revenue and/or statewide Proposition 172 Sales Tax Collections performance._


CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Promotion:

Appraiser Trainees are eligible for promotion to
Appraiser I ($59, $82,180.80 annually
) upon meeting the minimum requirements for that class including obtaining, within one (1) year of employment, a valid permanent Appraiser's Certificate issued by the State Board of Equalization and receiving a satisfactory work performance evaluation.

_Incumbents must promote within eighteen (18) months or be terminated.

_Likewise, Appraiser I are eligible for promotion to
Appraiser II (Up to $
95,846 annually) within 24 months or employment will be terminated.

Regular status can only be achieved at the Appraiser II level.

Travel:Travel throughout the County is required. Employees will be required to make provision for transportation. At the time of hire, a valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced for the individual providing the transportation.
_Mileage reimbursement is available. _Offices are located in Big Bear, Hesperia, Joshua Tree, Rancho Cucamonga, San Bernardino and Twin Peaks.


Minimum Requirements:


REQUIRED:


OPTION 1

  • A completed/awarded bachelor's degree.
    OPTION 2
  • Graduation from high school and a combination of higher education
    and relevant experience totaling four (4) years _(experience must have been obtained within the last ten years) _as one of the following:
  • A licensed real property appraiser (BREA Residential or higher), building cost estimator, accountant, or engineer.
  • A California real estate licensee engaged in buying, selling, or leasing real estate.
  • An Appraiser Aide/Technician or higher in a California Assessor's Office or the California State Board of Equalization.
  • An employee of an Assessor's office (other than Appraiser Aide/Technician or higher) or property tax department of the California State Board of Equalization except that such employment time shall be limited to qualifying for only 32 months of the fouryear experience requirement. The remaining amount of time shall be accumulated by other relevant experience described above or by education in an accredited institution of higher education in the academic fields listed above.
