ROLE SUMMARY
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor and communicate progress against portfolio delivery within ORU
- Monitor progress against portfolio goals and milestone delivery to ensure delivery of ORU business objectives
- Partner with ORU Portfolio Strategy and Scientific Operations leaders to ensure operational excellence in portfolio delivery across ORU
- Develop and maintain tracking tools to support portfolio delivery
- Manage the governance process within ORU, including the following key objectives:
- Work with discovery project team leaders, research project leaders, and research project managers to anticipate stage-gate transitions and appropriately schedule governance interactions
- Streamline and support ORU governance processes
- Review project team governance submissions to ensure that they meet the predefined criteria for appropriate scientific documentation, brevity and adherence to established standards
- Assist the Business Analytics and Portfolio Management Lead with the collection/review of team minutes and authoring of the goverance guidance with responsibility for management of final materials in the ORU Portfolio Dashboard
- Support the ORU Portfolio Management and Business Analytics leaders by running resource reports and portfolio milestone reports to develop routine and adhoc business analytics for senior leaders
- Monitor and manage Activity Tracker to ensure accurate assignment of resource work types and may assist with updates to training material and provide adhoc training
- Develop portfolio milestone tracking progress reports for ORU senior leadership
- Provide operational support to interactions with external partners, including visits, seminars, joint meetings, etc.
- Provide operational support to the management of material transfer and license agreements
- Assist with compliance, reporting, and financial tracking of external partnership engagements
- Monitor and manage key content within the alliances and portfolio management tools, including ensuring accurate updates
- Provide training to broader ORU leaders and colleagues on key alliances and portfolio management tools (Oncodash, Activity Tracker, External Research Dashboard, etc).
- May lead initiatives to develop new ORU alliances and portfolio and/or operations tools and dashboards
- Develop and implement new processes to streamline portfolio governance and external partnership engagements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- BA/BS life sciences degree or equivalent with 10+ years experience in a business operations role within pharmaceutical/biotech research organization
- Highly organized individual with strong project management skills and keen focus on tracking timelines across multiple business objectives
- Knowledge of overall drug discovery and development processes
- Well developed problemsolving skills with proven ability to solve complex problems thru iterative analysis
- Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Sharepoint, etc.)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years experience in planning and managing portfolio governance processes within a pharmaceutical/biotech research organization
- Experience with data querying tools and systems
- Internal knowledge of Pfizer processes, systems and organization considered a plus
- Hands on experience with document management tools (Teams, Sharepoint, Oncodash, etc).
